One of Certified's core values is being committed to giving back in the communities in which Certified does business. With that in mind, the Certified Community Events Committee, CCEC, was formed. Made up of 8 store support center members, 2 district operations managers, and 24 local store teams, you can often find CCEC members out in their communities, volunteering or participating in events, assisting at animal shelters, riding a bicycle to cure cancer, raising funds for local schools and food banks, or even doing something small to give back to our own employees in need.
In 2017, Team Certified joined the #GreatestTeamEver at Pelotonia to cure cancer. Pelotonia is a 3-day bicycle tour through central Ohio raising funds for cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
To make a larger impact in the local schools, the Pump with Pride program was developed. Certified has partnered with 5 area high schools to decorate a pump, allowing the school to earn a donation for every gallon pumped at the decorated pump.
Occasionally, Certified's own employees may fall on hard times. The CCEC has worked to create a special needs fund referred to as Certified Within. Through Bake Sales, Pi Day shenanigans, and other small fundraising efforts, Certified is able to provide assistance when the time is right.
